“What?” I replied in surprise. “Oh yes you did, you thief!” Hannah screamed in anger.
The fight was between me and my best friend named Hannah, but some of my friends were involved, too. It was just a few months ago, when I was in 7th grade. One beautiful afternoon at school, I was playing jump rope with my friends, we were playing happily, and suddenly I heard a breaking loud voice like someone was shouting inside the building. I told my friends that I would be right back. I ran up the stairs as fast as I could, I rushed inside to check out who was shouting and I saw Hannah. I came to her and asked, “Hey Hannah, are you ok?”
“No! I’m so not fine” she yelled at me like I’ve done something wrong to her.
“Why? What happened to you?” I asked. Hannah frowned, “Shut up and go away. I’m tired of seeing your face everyday!”
I silently walked away without knowing what was happening to Hannah. I couldn’t believe the way she talked to me, she never told me to shut up and she was never like that before…The next day, I was talking to Katherine about the homework, Hannah ran and she bumped into me and shouted at me like we were rivals. She clearly stated her statement that I stole her wallet and no one has done that except for me. I wondered why Hannah was so sure that I stole her wallet. She was my best friend ever and I knew that she must’ve hated me the whole time. She just wanted to make things up so something terrible would happen to me. When Hannah went away, Katherine came to me and said that she saw Claire whispering to Hannah about something. It seemed so important that it drove Hannah mad and that was the reason why she had to scowl at me for a several times. After a few days, I knew what Claire and Hannah were talking about, it was about me stealing Hannah’s wallet. The whole fight is made by Claire. I was totally innocent in this fight. After all the time Hannah and I have been playing together, she didn’t believe me but instead, she trusted her new friend, Claire more than her best friend. Hannah even told my friends to ignore me because I was a thief, and they shouldn’t play with me anymore. I had no friends after that, only a few friends who didn’t know me played with me. I couldn’t believe that Hannah did it to me, neither all of my friends. I crossed out her name from my friend list. I didn’t give her a second chance like I gave the others, because that was what Hannah deserved.
After that time, I found out who was truly my best friend and who was not. I’ve learned that friends were not always good, they had things hidden inside them that you need to take a really long time to figure out. But also after this, I’ve changed from a careless friend to a careful friend because I couldn’t always trust my friends like before. My friends also trusted me more than before, and so they took things from me more slowly and carefully.
